Finally got around to finishing off the other dozen thureophoroi to complete a unit of twenty four (you know when you have that group of figures that keeps getting pushed to the back of the queue...?).
Here's the full unit. Couldn't resist painting a few in pink ;-)
Lovely, lovely stuff. How do you do your bronze metal?
ReplyDeleteMy favourite troop type! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Simon
I really like these figures, and you've done them justice. Nice unit.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteInspiring !
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys,
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite troop types, too!
"Bronze" is done off a dark base, usually burnt umber or black, painted a deep gold, washed in dark brown inky-type stuff, highlighted in the base gold, leaving some shade, and finally touching up the edges with a brighter gold colour. Sounds more complicated than it is. All colours Vallejo. If I get chance tonight, I'll post the numbers.
Regards,
Craig
Wonderful looking regiment!
